Job Post: Specialist-Windows
SystemsReports To: Manager- IT Technical Infrastructure Operations
Job Summary:
Provide technical and operational support in management of multiple Windows servers in a highly dynamic business environment and to support business objectives
Principal Functions:
1.
Assist
in the implementation of approved policies and procedures for Windows operating
system design, implementation and maintenance
2.
Provide
input in the planning of Windows operating systems upgrades and deployment
3.
Provide
support in the implementation and user acceptance testing of Windows operating
systems
4.
Assist
in the development of a proactive maintenance cycle for Windows operating
systems and automate preventive/routine maintenance on systems
5.
Perform
daily Windows operating system administration, including hardware & software
upgrades
6.
Maintain
backup of the Windows operating system network
7.
Monitor
the Windows Infrastructure using the Microsoft System Centre Suite
8.
Ensure
optimal performance of all applications running on Windows operating system
environment in EMTS through proactive tuning and preventive maintenance
9.
Perform
daily Windows systems checks and correct any issues.
10. Monitor Windows
systems performance and recommend adjustments to system parameters to ensure
optimum performance and response time
11. Work with the
User Support team to provide second level support to the end users and ensure
timely resolution of Windows system problems
12. Monitor,
troubleshoot, problem resolution, and system administration services for
messaging infrastructure. Backup management for messaging servers
13. Liaise with
relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities
14. Attend
team/divisional/departmental meetings as required
15. Prepare/ compile
agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager-IT
Technical Infrastructure Operations
Educational
Requirements:
First degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and/ or any other relevant discipline
Experience & Skills:
At least two (2) years’ directly relevant post-NYSC expert-level work experience in Application Support for Windows Sharepoint, Exchange, System Centre Suite, MS Hyper-V, Blackberry Enterprise Server familiarity and SD Plus Operations
Ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent reporting and communication skills
